Recent Events
We have decided to highlight some of the recent events we have attended so people can see where we have been, whom we have been engaging with and what about exactly.
This isn't all of our events. We have 14 regular monthly information stands around North East Lincolnshire. Please see our events page to see where we'll be next.

Grimsby University Well-being Wednesdays
We identified the lack of younger people’s experiences that we were receiving in our engagement so we decided to contact the Grimsby University and set up a regular information stand. Fortunately, for us the University already had a “Well-being Wednesday” in place and they invited us to have a regular stand there.
From October 2019 - December 2019 we have been attending once a month and we have engaged with over 230 students in that period. We have had over 130 students complete our recent GP Appointment Questionnaire giving them the opportunity to give their views and opinions on local services.
The success we have had at the University means that now we attend the University once a month for their “Well-being Wednesdays”. You can find us there on the second Wednesday of every month.
Grimsby University Talk 3/12/19
We spoke with level 5 health and social care students at Grimsby University about Healthwatch and what it is we do. We talked about our volunteer opportunities to the students and that we have placement roles available too.
We also explained the importance of sharing experiences with us to help improve local services. We gave each one of the students a comment card for them to share a recent experience with us, which they were all more than happy to do. We had some great Q&A’s with the group.
Healthwatch plan on going again soon to the university to speak with the level 4 health and social care students.
Living Well Community Event 25/10/19
We had an information stand at the Living Well Community Event on the 25th October 2019 at Freeman Street Market. The day was filled with activities, health & wellbeing information and advice stalls, live entertainment, a raffle and refreshments. The event raised more than £1,400 for the YMCA ‘At One’ Project.
Over the course of the day, we engaged with over 90 people and signposting them to various health & social care services around North East Lincolnshire. We were handing information out about the STOPTOBER campaign also and the signs and symptoms of Sepsis. 15 people also helped complete our GP Appointment Questionnaire, allowing them to share their views and opinons on local services.

Franklin College Fresher's Fair 5/9/19
We do not get enough younger people’s views and opinions and experiences with health & social care services so we decided to attend the Franklin College Fresher’s Fair. It was an excellent day full of useful information stands, activities, games and refreshments.
We spoke with 96 students on the day about their experiences and provided them with information about local services. Each student took a leaflet and information on volunteering with us as well as one of our nice free pens.
