Service users needed for Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education (GIFHE) programme
The BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) programme starts at the Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education (GIFHE) January 2020. The nursing team are looking for 2 service users to volunteer to deliver sessions aimed at ensuring student nurses understand what health and health care means to service users.
These volunteers will each deliver a 1 hour 'lecture' to a group of 30 students, discussing their experiences as a service user. Ideally the GIFHE nursing team are looking for 2 individuals who are passionate about sharing their experiences. One who can discuss their experiences of health care from birth to present day. This person does not necessarily have to have complex health care needs, they just need to be someone who has had regular contact with health care professionals as a child and young person and then required inpatient and outpatient as well as primary care as an adult. The other to be a service user who has a disability and can ensure that their discussion enables student nurses to understand the additional challenges this brings when accessing and dealing with the health care sector.
If you would like to help to educate and shape the next generation of Adult nurses please contact Jennie Goacher (Programme Leader, BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult)) via email - firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone - 01472 311222 ext. 1492 to discuss further. Thank you.
