Finding an NHS Dentist in North East Lincolnshire

Finding an NHS Dentist in North East Lincolnshire

There is an ongoing issue in North East Lincolnshire with a lack of dentists taking on NHS patients in the area. We are aware of the issue and it is something we have been working on for some time now and will continue to work on with the appropriate parties.

Our advice to people trying to get a dentist is to continue to regularly contact local dentists within Grimsby and the surrounding areas and request to be placed on their waiting lists. You can find a list of dentists and their contact details here: https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-dentist

We have been in touch with a lot of practices recently and a few of them have advised us that although they are not currently taking on NHS patients, some of them are taking on private patients. They have schemes available which although is slightly more expensive than an NHS scheme, it is not a significant increase. Please note, not all practices offer this but it may be worth enquiring about when phoning and if you’re able to afford this option.

If you need dental treatment in an emergency

  1. Call a dentist: some surgeries offer appointments at short notice.
  2. If you do not have a dentist, find one using NHS 111.

As previously mentioned, Healthwatch NEL will continue to work with the appropriate people to highlight this ongoing issue.
